25"+ under $300 display?? which ones

If you're going to be doing photo editing, look for a higher quality panel. There are some awesome deals going on right now on dell IPS screens. The 22" is supposed to be very nice and is near the $200 mark with some people reporting having coaxed sales reps into deals on the 23" as well. Not quite 25" but the quality over a TN panel will be well worth it IMO.

I understand the higher quality of the IPS vs TN's... but for the amount of editing I will do it isnt worth it...right now I am using an Acer AL2016W from 2007 so I would really like more size and some improved color.... if I had it my way I would be busting out a ZR30W but with a family and bills it just doesnt rank up the list.

will it matter with games if he gets an IPS over TN. I was under the impression gaming was best on TN as on IPS you will have ghosting.

Well I ordered the Asus VE278Q.. seems like a fairly good display. I wasnt to crazy about the 1920x1080 but I can live with it since it will be used for 95% gaming and surfing, and 5% vid and photo editing...

I'm using a Hannspree 28''. I like it. However I will note the vertical angle is kinda bad.
