2405 stand question

So before i always had the monitor on a shelf type thing, so i had the monitor stand as low as it would go. I just decided to rip apart my desk and that stand with it so i could have my monitor closer to my face.

So now in the all the way down possition its 2 low, but up high is... well way to high. My question is if i set it in the middle it seems to stay there, will it eventually rise up or is it made to hold the possition?
 
Both of my 2405's have sat for going on 6 months in the middle and my 2005fpw has sat in the middle since last December so I think you should be ok.
