i was just reading an article about the 2001 model or whatever the dell 20 inch one is, and it says that that monitor has the ability to display a single unscaled if it does not fit 16:10 aspect ratio. so it wont look stretched, is this also a feature on the 2405, i would assume so, but ya never know
 
Yes, the 2405 displays non-native and non-16:10 resolutions in 1.1 format. It shows up with black bars on either side.
