I bought a 2405fpw and my 21 days is up on Wednesday, and I just noticed the bleeding when I was watching a movie. Is my bleeding bad? Should I send it back? When I look at a full white screen, the right side seems yellowish compared to the left. Is that from the bleeding?

I'm afraid to send it back for an exchange for the simple fact that they made a mistake when I bought mine, I got mine for half price, and I'm afraid if I send it back they are going to realize their mistake and get me for the full price.

What does everyone think? Send it back and take the chance, or accept the bleeding as not that bad? There doesn't seem to be any dead pixels or other issues. Thanks guys.

I don't think thats bad enough to send it back based on the picture. But do what you gotta do.
 
I would keep it. If its not painfully obvious and annoying then stick with it instead of risking paying the full price
 
Keep it. You don't know what you have until you ain't got it no more.
You should still call Dell and bitch about it though. Might land you a coupon or free stuff.
 
that second pic looks pretty bad, but it could just be the angle that you are looking at the monitor. I would send it back if that is what it looks like all the time.


And...why would dell re-charge you for the monitor? The deal has been sealed, they cant do anything legally.
 
It's not bad, but then again not so great either. I personally couldn't live with it (hey, I'm picky, sue me :p), so if it really bothers you, just ask for a new one. They can't charge you more than what you already paid for. :)
 
What I have noticed with my monitor is that a lot of the bleeding has to do with viewing angle. Since the monitor is so large, when you sit directly in front of it on a pitch black screen, the corners / sides can sometimes appear to be bleeding a little because of the viewing angle. If you look at the monitor straight one from about 10 feet away though, you'll notice that the bleeding is a lot less noticable. LCDs aren't perfect, but their damned nice and I love my 2405fp.
 
It's not too terrible, mine does something similar in the upper left corner but not as extreme as yours, it doesn't bother me too much. Your's looks kind of splotchy though, I sent back one of the exchanges I had because it had a big circular splotch in the lower right even more extreme than what yours has in the upper right. I think it's nearly impossible for an LCD to have %100 uniform backlighting though.
 
My only issue with it is that it seems to make the right half of the screen more yellow than the left half when I sit dead center (lined up with the DELL insignia). That's what bothers me about it more than anything. Any way to reduce that?

And I agree. I think perfection is impossible, and I never expected to get one that is perfect. But I think having half the screen noticeably yellower than the other half is a little bit much. Then again, maybe not.

So bleeding are those irregularities in the corners... ok, thanks for answering my question.
 
Whats with the red vertical line down the center of the screen? Can see it in both shots.

It's an issue with my camera. I'm getting a replacement. It's not a part of the monitor.
