yeah i just got my mobile 2400+ from newegg and yeah it kinda blows. It only overclocks as fast as my old 2100+. runs on about .125 volts lower, but will not overclock anymore.

I'm not too dissapointed though cause i had to replace my cracked 2100+, and i got a baton out of it.... ohh well what can you do ?

from what i hear most of these suckers are overclocking really well so dont get discouraged. i just wanted to let everyone know there is a crappy stepping version floating around. Sorry though i didnt remember to check the stepping before i put on my water block. good luck with your moblies

tell you that the 2400+ isnt a barton

Maybe something else is holding you back. Give us some details. Ram timings, vcore you've tried, prime results, etc. Also 2.4ghz isn't too shabby.

2400+-M's are barton cores just at lower FSB...I get that OC with one too. Let me guess you got an A_____ stepping right? I did too...the I_____ are the ones that get huge speeds. Oh well.

wait I'm probably going to be getting the 2400+ mobile, but now I'm confused with the stepping A thing and the l thing that you guy's are talking about. From what I understand there are certain stepping of the 2400+ mobile that OC very good. Where can I find this stepping?, so when i go to purchase one I know what I'm getting, or is that something I have to find out. Correct me if i'm wrong in anything. Thx
