Went through with xen on my server but it didn't like fake raid :( oh well, was worth a try..

So just installed 2008r2 again & all the service packs.

Now id like to setup hyper v & iscsi PROPERLY I have 4 gig Nic's in the machine.. Would like to dedicate the hp dual port gig nic to iscsi traffic.

Any suggestions before i start mucking with this ?

all drivers & updates installed. Need to install hyper-v Role, BUT waiting to hear suggestions first...

Well I misunderstood, yes dedicate two ports using MPIO. Maybe one of the others for management and the other for regular traffic.

Though now that I think about it, you might bond the two extra ports and use the bonded NIC's for management and VM traffic.

So...

hp dual port nic for iscsi mpio
onboard intel gbit nics ( bond for a 2gb connection )

Sounds like a plan

trying to figure this out :( what option do i need ?

I want a 2gb link for more bandwidth..

Is LACP setup on the switch side?

I believe that if you want 2GB without any switch config, you can setup ALB.
