Ok, the VX2025WM (which I thought was discontinued) is now in stock at newegg. Do you guys think I should go through the hassle of the panel lottery or play it safe with the 2025WM? I plan on doing some gaming as well as photoshop and some CAD work. According to the LCDbuyersguide over at anandtech, the 2025 has an A-MVA panel now? Or did it always have it (thought it had a S-PVA panel before)... Not quite sure, that's why I'm asking you guys. Thanks,

If you win the panel lottery then you will get a monitor that outclasses the Viewsonic in every category imo. You have to consider the S-IPS panel versus the P-MVA as well as the extra inputs, PiP, image modes, and fully adjustable stand that the VX2025WM lacks..

I haven't heard of anyone getting PVA in the last few weeks from the 2007wfp lottery. My office ordered two over the last month or so and both were S-IPS.

The 2025WM is one of many Viewsonic models which won't turn on when connected to certain video cards via DVI. It's a design flaw that repeated RMAs won't fix.

If you don't mind a panel lottery and crappy offshored support, go with Dell. Otherwise, stretch your budget to a Samsung 215TW, HP LP2065, or one of NEC's higher end models.

i dunno if you're going to "stretch" your budget, the NEC 20" widescreen seems to really dominate the samsung and HP counterparts.
