Hi I just recieved this beauty of a monitor (Mexico - May A02) with 0 backlighting issues and 0 dead pixels. That being said there is one thing that is bugging me about this monitor that I did not have to face while using the E1905FP. I enjoy the responsive feel of the monitor while having the refresh rate at 100Hz. I am not sure if it is just me but everything just feels a bit slicker with a higher refresh rate. My problem lies in that once I set the monitor to the native resolution of 1680x1050 the option of setting it to 100Hz is gone and the only option is 60Hz. Is there a workaround this or any type of program that can mimic the 100Hz goodness?

this is odd. I thought LCDs didnt have refresh rates. I thought the 60hz option is just the default option in windows.
 
No I have the option for changing refresh rates in lower resolutions and don't quote me on this but I do believe that refresh rates affect LCD's. To me it feels like my mouse is being dragged along the monitor when I use a low refresh rate.
 
ANY LCD w/DVI cable = 60hz. You'll have to do something about your mouse drivers or sensitivity, the LCD is unfortunately locked at 60hz. And no, the frequency is not the same (in effect) as a CRT. They don't work the same way as CRTs.
 
Almost completely true, except this part: "ANY LCD w/DVI cable = 60hz". I've successfully run my old 1504FP LCD @ 75Hz with a DVI cable for months without any problems. And yes, the cursor did feel "smoother". I know what you're talking about, LeArN2LiVe. Learn to live with it... ;)

Unfortunately for you and I there's no way (that I know of at least) to safely force 100Hz, unless you want to shorten, or worse, permanently damage your expensive display. You can try it with the program below (I don't even know if it will work), but you do this on your own risk. I am NOT responsible if you blow up your LCD!

With that said, there's an easier way to get a more responsive mouse. You can either change your mouse (I don't know what you currently have) to at least an M$ Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 or better (Razer Diamondback, Logitech MX-518 etc.), or, you can use the program below to change your USB polling rate to 500Hz (I don't recommend you change it to 1000Hz as that has been proven to cause instability for prolonged periods of time.

I have an MX500 and the 2005FPW and I notice no mouse lag whatsoever. It's plugged into the PS2 port.

Perhaps a small LCD (i.e. your 15") can run at 75hz on DVI, but there is no video bandwidth on any video card to "properly" run a screen with this resolution at higher than 60hz. That said, you can try forcing it, but I don't think you'll have very good results. If you really want 75hz, switch to the VGA cable - you'll be able to get it with a slight drop in quality. Regardless, though, you should know that LCD and CRT use the refresh rate in much different ways, and that almost everyone who owns an LCD with a DVI port are running it at 60hz and are quite happy with it, and have learned to live with V-Sync. lol

Yeah, you're right about this, I forgot to add that my LCD was just 15" and topped out at 1024x768. V-Sync is a blessing (for me at least). If there's anything that irritates me the most it has got to be screen tearing. Thank God and everyone else for V-Sync, I don't know what I would do without it (I'd probably be hanging out with the car dudes down the block... :p )
 
In regards to the Reversions of the fpw2005, what exactly are they correcting?

So far I know there is the A01 and A02.

blacklight bleeding etc?

And im I correct in assuming the A02 would be the better choice to get if one had a choice?
