2001FP or 1905FP

im going to go dual monitors, and id really like the extra inch the 2001FP gives you but its likei $200 more. are there any other things the 2001FP has that the 1905FP doesnt? cost is really an issue too.
 
Why not a single 2405?

I went dual 1905 - and I'm glad I went 2405. Very similar desktop size, believe it or not.

1. i heard people complaining of the pixels being spread out too far at 24 inches
2. i like to play full screen games (WoW) while being able to be on the internet, run programs, chat, play music in another screen. it really helps as far as the efficiency when yuor multitasking too.
3. do u still have those 2 1905s? lol
4. the price tag
 
I am waiting to get the 2405 for $779 or less like it was about two weeks ago.
 
I have a 2001FP that I bought about a year ago. I have never used a 1905FP, so I can't speak to first hand experience.

The 2001FP has a 16ms response time, while the 1905FP has a 20ms response time. You should notice less blur on the 2001FP while playing a game. For me, I can still see blur at 16ms, but I don't notice it when I'm not looking for it.

Speaking of response times. Does Dell make and <=12ms displays that are 19 or 20 inch. They really hide the their repsponse times on their site ;)
 
The 915N is a good monitor, but only a 6bit panel.

Look at the the FP-988D 19", it has decent reviews and its cheap.

2100FP: Bad black levels, good at most other things (check with someone who owns it)
1905FP: bad ghosting, good image quality (I own one and will advise you to get this monitor for everything but games)
 
I wouldnt recommend the 2001FP , it has horrible black levels ..unless you dont mind your games looking like this , 2001FP is on the right ;)

Sticking with my CRT.
 
I have the 2001fp and the 1905fp, they are both great but the 2001fp is the better one. I use the 1905fp on my gf's machine and my rig uses the 2001fp

That shot above is not surprising seeing as the graphics card is probably setup for the crt, dropping the brightness and contrast settings would get something far closer.

I use my 2001fp for gaming and its great.

I tried everyting to get better blacks out of the 2001FP for the 3 weeks I had it (before sending back to dell) It has a weak contrast ratio of 400:1 so theres really nothing you can do about it, the average CRT is well above 1000:1 ,The higher the ratio the deeper the black levels.

The FP-988D looks pretty good, around my price range too. anything better than that? or would that be a worthy buy?
 
So is the ghosting that bad on the 1905FP? I just picked one up new for a pretty good deal Shipped. I didn't think it was bad for a 19" with DVI. Now I'm starting to worry that I won't be able to game on it. :(
 
Ghosting is always subjective, but I wouldn't recommend competitive gaming with the 1905FP.
 
Well what about just playing a game of Half-Life 2 or Doom every now and then. Most of the stuff I will be using it for is Photo and Video editing. I'll still have my 19" NEC FE991SB.
