Got my unit last nite and I noticed kind of a white glow on the Windows desktop all along the left side. Although when I run the deadpixel test I don't see any glow on the black screen. Is this just the white light from all the desktop icons? Kind of looks that way, just want to see if it's normal. Probably have the brightness pegged out of the box.

Well, if it looks fine on a totally black screen, then there's nothing wrong with the monitor.

Also, why don't you try moving the icons to the right side. Then you'll know for sure.
