Anyways back on topic, anyone have one of these (or similar one) that can assist me? Would like to not have dead ports on the front, but would like less not to have wires out of case.
 
You connect to the headers ON the motherboard. Just like connecticg USB ports to your case. You'll likely lose functionality of the built-in ports that are duplicates of these on your case.
 
that is a really nice card reader. i can't believe it has all that crap packed into such a small space. yeah, the usb plug runs to the usb header, the card readers prolly go to another usb header, and the firewire goes to a firewire header. fan controllers should be pretty straightforward too right? just run it in line of the fan plug.

for the other stuff, it's hard to tell, because some of those things run to your audio ports on the back of your case. if that's the case, then there should be a bracket that allows you to pass the audio cables from the card reader through the back of one of the pci brackets.

i found this on the same site. i think it's the same thing, so it looks like you have to pass some of the cables through the back of the case to get everything hooked up right. if you don't want to pass the stuff through, you'll just have to go without it up front.
so we were wrong, the usb and firewire, do not plug into a header on the mobo. they run through the back.
 
Before you go "ewwww, I have to have nasty looking plugs running back into my case?!", you can probably wire up all of those ports right to the back of the ones on your mobo and other cards, and keep the functionality of both(but not at the same time, you'd have to use one or the other, not both at once).

Another solution would be to wire up a USB header for the USB, FireWire for the FW, solder onto the card traces for the sound, video, etc. Anything that has a plug on the back of your case or cards, has a place where the connector is attached to the card itself. The only problem you might run into are dual or more layer boards(on a motherboard), or a cowled connector, like you see on most USB and mobo plugs. That can be carefully modified, but you want to make sure to put it back, as it gives structural support.

It's all very doable, if you're not scared of some semi permanent modification. I'd recommend some disconnects in line with the individual connections if you solder them, so that you can swap components(cards, mobos) without having to desolder.

At least the mexicans (and I would know best, I am in california) all work for us super cheap. Hard labor no one else wants for wages people would spit at. Why complain when I can have someone do a job for up to 75% less without the complaining.

Easy, I came here posting about a simple card reader question, roachm made a stupid little remark, I replied. Then later down the road some dipshit (born in 1988 go figure), decided to throw his 2 cents in and unburry the minor derailment with some massive racist ignorant bullshit that is hillbilly father projected on to him. That help :)

20 my ass, thats false advertising. sure the memory stick slot can take 4 types of memory sticks (regular MS, MS pro, MS Duo, and MS Pro Duo) the CF reader can take both CF and microdirve, but they all share the same damn connectors, compatibility isn't a feature.
