Hi all,
i have 2 pc's and a Dlink DSL-502T ADSL Router.I have set it up so i'm using internet cionnection sharing. My problem is sometimes the main pc loses internet for some reason, and when you disable the local area network connection to the other pc it starts working fine again....
The Router is connected to the main pc and runs XP PRO SP2.It is connected via USB.The second PC is connected to the main PC via onboard LAN.To log into the router you use 10.1.1.1. and the router's connection in Network Connections is setup with a 10.1.1.2 static address. The local area connection on the pc is setup as a static address with 192.168.3.1 and the second pc has a static address of 192.168.3.5.
how should the PC's be setup; (i have the router static for port forwarding)
e.g
Router
IP: 10.1.1.2
Subnet: 255.0.0.0
Gateway: 10.1.1.1
main pc
IP: 192.168.3.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.1.1.1
DNS: ?
Second PC
IP: 192.168.3.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 10.1.1.1
DNS: ?
Does this look correct.......the file sharing part works flawlessly it's just the internet that jams up but is fine as soon as you disable the Local Area Network Connection....also could upnp have something to do with it....hence the router is connected via USB
Thanks
