does anyone know where besides new egg to find a 2.5 optical drive that reads and burns dvd? there only seems to be one but i was always thinking hey why not steal a laptops optical drive and see if that works but the bezel probably wouldn't work out.

so wondering if anyone else has reccomendations for an optical drive for a 2.5

That's not really 2.5 inches. Its dimensions are 132mm x 140mm x 17mm -- or, 5.20in x 5.51in x .067in.

All slim optical drives are going to be at least five inches wide as they have to cover the diameter of most optical discs, which is 120mm (or 4.72in).
