ok, right now i'm playing CS:S and my system seem getting slow fps on this game..

do any of you play games at this res? if you do, what type of settings do you guys use and what system?

i seem to get alot of tearing at this res and it sucks so bad..

any of you guys have tips of what i should do?

low fps aroudn 50-80 w/out vysnc on..

game settings is all max except for AF 8* is what recommended :(

thanx

I'm playing DoD:S at 1600x1200 with an A64 3000+ and 6800 GT. I just turned down/off everything except for Texture and Shadow quality. I get around 40-160 fps

I'm sure your computer will do fine at 1920x1200 on those settings.

CSS would defualt to 1920x1200 on my system when I turned on the 16x10 option. I'm running it on a 2800+ with 512 ram and a 6600gt. Runs fine on the default settings.

Just got my Dell 2405FPW 24" LCD which has a native res of 1920 x 1200

I will say that my CS Source frame rates are very playable with everything maxed except for AF @ 8x.

My system is

P4 3.06 @ 3.4ghz
Abit TH7 II mainboard
1 Gig RDRAM
BFG GeForce 6800 GT @ Ultra speed
Win XP Pro
77.XX Detonator Drivers

I've also been playing UT2K4 and that has been running nice as well. Doom 3 however could be running smoother. Quake 3 flies like there is no tomorrow ;-)

HOWEVER, like you I am seeing some tearing @ this res and it is a little more jaggy than I would like. What monitor your running?

UPDATE:

Ok, since I've made my first post I've been playing around with the games more and here is what I have found...

HL2 & CS:S = 1920x1200 8xAF Detail MAXed 2X AA = Looks amazing and runs great!

UT2K4 = 1920x1200 16xAF Detail MAXed 2X AA = Just flies

DOOM 3 = 1920 x 1200 8xAF High Quality Detail No AA = playable, but not quick enough for me to be able to really enjoy it.

Jedi Outcast: 1920 x 1200 8xAF Detail MAXed 2X AA = Runs very quick

Unreal 2: 1920 x 1200 8xAF Detail MAXed 2X AA = Run nice and smooth, looks gorgeous!

Chronicles of Riddick: 1920 x 1200 8xAF Detail MAXed SHADER < 3.0 2X AA = Again, just looks amazing and runs very well too. I have to use one down from Shader 3.0 though, so 2.0++. Enabling 3.0 brings my system to its knees at any resolution in game.

I play UT2004 at 1920x1200 on an HP L2335 with very nice results. Graphics card is an X850XT PE - you need something beefey for this resolution!

CS:Source was noticably more jerky when I tried it - had to turn down the eye candy.

ANyone have a 7800gt here with a 2405 at native? Im curious to know how it runs...

I have the 2405, running at 1920x1200 in all my games, no problems.
Half Life 2, Far Cry, GTA San Andreas, Call of Duty 2 demo, Fear demo.
It's Awesome!!

i'm not saying i dont believe you, but what fps are you getting w/ those demo?

because when i play thos demo games, i barely get 60 fps everytime.. maybe avg around 30-50 w/ all settings on max

I've got a 9800 Pro 128mb card, and the 2405. I'm wondering how I should be setting up my games to run on this, like FarCry, HL2, Doom. And how do you get these true widescreen?

when i was waiting for my 7800GTX, i used my old computer w/ 9800pro and i was happy using 1024x768 res and it has this black bars.. but it run smooth w/ all settings max except AF. :)

but i cant run widescreen because my old comp and probably the video card couldnt handle it.. it looked better on 1024x768 w/ black bars.

I was able to enjoy all my games at this res all of two weeks before the FEAR MP demo came out. I had to drop down to 1680x1050 no AA 4x AF with otherwise max settings. This res is really overkill for games, especially the ones just coming out that recommend 1024x768 for even high end hardware (next gen console influence most likely with the whole 720p thing) and don't offer any type of native widescreen support. Fortunately dropping down to 1680x1050 doesn't really hamper IQ in games with the 2405fpw, at least to my eyes. There is also the option of using 1600x1200 with no pixel scaling using it either stretched across the screen or with black bars as if the monitor is just a regular 20" LCD. That's not really any fun though.

With my rig listed below and playing at 1900x1200 I get 100+ fps on CSS with everything maxed (4xAA16xAF).
