19" LCD Question about native resolution

Im seriously looking at a 19" LCD to replace my failing 19" NEC CRT

Problem is most come at a native resolution of 1280 x 1024, which is fine for windows. I primarily game in 1024x768 or 800x600 since I dont have a system that can keep up to 1280x1024.

Am I going to have a problem with an LCD monitor?"

LCDs can do two things when running lower resolutions. They can run the lower resolution in a smaller area of the screen, leaving black boarders around it. This has no impact on image quality but its smaller. Or they can interpolate and stretch the image, this usually results in worse image quality. Better results happen when the native and other resolution have the same ratio as far as pixles tall by pixles wide. 1280x1024 and 1024x768/800x600 have a different ratio so you'll probably be able to notice a difference in quality. I have been told that new LCDs handle this better than older ones(like mine) so maybe you should wait for someone who has more current first hand knowlege...
