172x, 2001FP

hmmm.... i'm thinkin bout gettin either a 172x or a 2001FP... The 172x claims to have a faster response time, but some reviews doubted that... So... with the 172x at $500-$600, and the 2001FP at $800-$900... which would probably be the better buy and one that would last for a long time?

if you can not at all afford the 2001FP, sell some excess hardware until you CAN afford the 2001FP, then get it.

I took my 2001FP out of the box on the 7th and im amazed by the quality. ive been playing Need for speed underground, war3, Americas army, Enemy Territory, GTA, Deus Ex and FIFA the last few days without a problem. Get it if you have the cash.

darksynth, How does Underground run at 1600x1200 with your hardware? are you using AA / AF, what settings? Do you find text on web sites small when reading? I can't afford a 2001FP now, but would save for one if it meets my needs, I only play underground at the moment which is real blurry on my 192T, so I was just curious how it is with the few questions I asked above. also how is the uniformity of the backlighting etc?

o, anyone with a 2001FP, can u tell me the length and width? wanna compare it to mi current monitor to c how huge it is compared to it... and also if u can, tell me how much u paid for it... (lookin for deal/waiting to go on sale)
