A couple of us with the Viewsonic VP2770 have noticed that on very dark grey backgrounds we can sometimes see very very faint horizontal irregularities (not consistent banding) in the screen. They appear just as a partial, slightly darker grey line here and there. At very close distances it gives the appearance of irregularities when looking at the panel from top to bottom. They are so faint they cannot be captured with a picture. I was wondering if anyone else who has a PLS-based 1440p monitor could test this.

The best test I've found is to sample the dark grey background used on forum posts here, and make it full screen in some kind of photo editing or image editing program. This is not easy to spot, you have to be inches from the screen and set the monitor at a high brightness.

This isn't something I can see normally, at a normal viewing distance and especially at a normal brightness it is completely unnoticeable. Honestly it doesn't impact the use of the monitor in anyway because they are completely invisible when you move of a more than a few inches away from the screen. I'm just curious of any other PLS-panels exhibit the same phenomenon.
