Currently I am running an Abit Aw9d (975x Series chipset) with a E6600 (Not O/C'd) and was considering a CPU upgrade.

I know that with the last bios update (Ver 1.5) the board is supposedly able to run a 1333 FSB cpu and I was considering getting a E6850 to replace the E6600.

Will the Motherboard be able to handle the new CPU and will there be a noticable performance gain vice trying to overclock the E6600? Or will I need to get a new motherboard? Thanks for the help

that looks like a pointless upgrade,

e6600 is already a fast cpu, and u can easily run your setup @ 3.2ghz on air if u have a decent ram

Ok, thats what I needed to know. I got 4 gigs of OCZ Platinum DDR2-6400 Ram so the ram should be good. Any good suggestions on o/cing this proc?
