Hi,
I'm trying to be connected to both my new Netgear router (WNDR3700) and my friend's Motorola cable modem/router at the same time while maintaining internet access. If I connect to the Motorola network by itself, I have internet access. As soon as I connect to the Netgear router, I lose internet access. The odd thing is in the network and sharing center(windows Vista) the motorola connection shows it having local and internet access but I still can't bring up any websites or ping via command prompt.
I've gone into the "manage network connections" and advanced settings and set the network device connecting to the motorola network as the top priority.
I've tried disconnecting both wireless devices from the networks and manually connecting each network one at a time but I still can't use the internet even when windows is saying I have internet access.
The reason why I want to do this is so I can play around with the various features of the Netgear router while maintaining a connection to the internet. Here is what I get from the ipconfig /all command via command prompt using Vista.
