Hi,
I'm trying to be connected to both my new Netgear router (WNDR3700) and my friend's Motorola cable modem/router at the same time while maintaining internet access. If I connect to the Motorola network by itself, I have internet access. As soon as I connect to the Netgear router, I lose internet access. The odd thing is in the network and sharing center(windows Vista) the motorola connection shows it having local and internet access but I still can't bring up any websites or ping via command prompt.
I've gone into the "manage network connections" and advanced settings and set the network device connecting to the motorola network as the top priority.
I've tried disconnecting both wireless devices from the networks and manually connecting each network one at a time but I still can't use the internet even when windows is saying I have internet access.
The reason why I want to do this is so I can play around with the various features of the Netgear router while maintaining a connection to the internet. Here is what I get from the ipconfig /all command via command prompt using Vista.

Wireless connection 3(Belkin USB adapter) is the network that has internet access. The other wifi network(Intel Wifi card) does not.
Sorry for the wall of text but I'm stumpt :\
Thanks for the taking the time to read this :)
EDIT: I changed the title for viewing convenience :)

Manually configure the settings for the one connected to the router you're playing with and don't set a default gateway. That should force any internet traffic out the other connection.

Hook them all up to the same LAN. Then go into your IP settings for that NIC.

You should be connected VIA DHCP for your primary network.

Then to go advanced settings > IP and add the second IP address. you will have internet access and access to the other subnet
