Uber says it plans to ask the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals for a stay in the driver class-action lawsuit. The bad news for Uber is that the company's last request for a stay was denied and the judge in the case says he is determined to keep the trial date of June 20, 2016 on track.
A company spokeswoman informed Reuters of the plan a day after U.S. District Court Judge Edward Chen denied the ride service's request for a complete stay in the closely watched case. Uber's push for a stay from the appeals court came after Chen earlier this month issued an order expanding the number of drivers who could join the class-action lawsuit.
