I don't know what the hell these guys are talking about, tech companies are already cooperating too much as it is. :(

US tech companies are not doing enough to help UK police and intelligence agencies by handing over their customers' data and communications, according to a government expert. A report by Nigel Sheinwald, the Prime Minister's 'special envoy on intelligence and law enforcement data sharing' said that UK law enforcement still struggles to get access to information it requires.

Why not just ask the NSA to ship them the data on a USB stick? /s

Legal subpoena or gtfo. Which should once filled and the case closed OR a reasonable duration become public record.

i guess us tech companies losing an estimated 6 billion dollars this year because of spying isn't bad enough.

guess the gumment wants them to go bust ASAP.

The article isn't entirely clear, but it sounds like it referring to US companies having data on both customers in the UK jurisdiction as well as customers here in America.

But it seems weird they would request information about Americans. Because this is America, we fight terrorists, we don't have any.

The article then goes on to blame Edward Snowden for making life so much harder for government agencies because customers "think" they want encryption. But they don't. They really want the government to protect them at all times. It's true that government has never kept anyone from dying, but it's only because of the citizens lack of faith.
