If you are in the market for a new solid state drive, you'll no doubt want to read this review of the Patriot Ignite 480GB SSD at Overclockers Club today.

Patriot has been silent on the SSD front for a while letting the older products fill the space until the next versions of its latest drive were ready for delivery. Diving into the lower cost segment, Patriot used the Phison S3110 controller to manage the asynchronous micron based MLC NAND. From a performance perspective, the Patriot Ignite delivered impressive results across the board with a few exceptions.

I saw Phison S3110 and thought the worst, but it actually doesn't do too bad here. No Samsungs in the test drive suite though, kinda weird.

if (brand = patriot) {
println ("OH HELL NO!");
}

I avoid Patriot like the plague for good reason. Horrible, horrible garbage.

I have used patriot ram for over 10 years and have 2 of their pyro SE ssds since 2011 and have never had an issue.

These ignite drives seem decent but there's not much to set them apart from all the competition.
