Netflix is in the process of consumer testing to give the user control over what shows up on your viewing history that could prove embarrassing to other parties sharing the same account.

Choosing that option means the program will not appear in your viewing activity log, nor will it be used to determine recommendations about what you should watch in the future.

Is there bestiality porn on Netflix now or something?

I can see this being useful for kids not seeing what their parents were watching. But, depending on how it is implemented, a potential argument starter if a wife can't see what the husband has been watching!!

If your wife is concerned that you can do something without her knowing about it, your marriage is already jacked up.

This has needed to happen for a long time. There need to be better parental controls and while Orange is the New Black might be fine for the wife and I, I don't want it showing up on the recently watched list for the kids if they choose our profile.

Been there, done that, have the divorce papers. Life is too short to deal with an insecure child with emotional instability.

Awesome. I really don't want anyone to know how many times I've watched every episode of Scrubs.

The only part of this that I really care about is "...nor will it be used to determine recommendations about what you should watch in the future."
I would use it just to keep from getting those shitty recommendations. If I could just turn those off it would be fine too.

When my son was like 12, he use to make fun of me watching Scrubs so often as it seemed to be on TV all the time on so many different channels. Then when he hit 16 or so, he started watching them with me and now thinks it is the greatest so ever made!!

I got the DVDs.. love listening to the director/actors commentary tracks!!

Scrubs got a big backlash for some reason - possibly precisely because for a while there if you had cable/satellite it was on all the time. I had a hard time understanding it because I'd long since cut my cord.

Now I'm patiently waiting for Cougar Town (worst title of a good show ever) to hit the streaming services again (thanks TBS!). I love that show but not quite enough to buy it separately on Amazon.

If I hadn't turned almost entirely against discs, I'd do the same. I had the first 3 seasons on DVD and the commentaries were good times.

Yeah, that...TBS thing. Mixed feelings. It was, indeed, a SURPRISINGLY good show - much better than it needed to be. Has a bit of the same feeling as 'Scrubs', actually - same sort of humor, anyway. Watched it on Hulu, as it was coming out.

So...sad it got cancelled, happy that TBS resurrected it...bummed that we can't actually see any of the new episodes, now.
