The way things are going in this country right now, would you even be surprised if this happened?

The cybersecurity bill making its way through the Senate right now is so broad that it could allow ISPs to classify Netflix as a "cyber threat," which would allow them to throttle the streaming service's delivery to customers.

This bill is going to be just like the DMCA. A shitty piece of gigantic and monstrous legislation that will capture anything and everything in its path and reclassify and redefine all kinds of terms and definitions for the sake of criminal/civil and prosecutorial discretion. Everything will be caught in its wake. Hey, don't like a website, cybersecurity threat. Don't like an internet service, guess what? Reclassify it. and on and on and on. Technology and network/internet services were meant to impart more freedoms and liberties to individual users, now they are the new shackles of techno-slavery. Enjoy.
