The mainstream media has invented a new word to beat us over the head with. When will this lame trend of mashing words together end? :(

She said her man wasn’t having sex with another woman, but was sharing his deepest feelings with her. Experts say it is the latest frontier in betrayal. So-called ‘emotional sex’ occurs when chatting becomes cheating, either online or through text messaging.

I thought emotional sex was when I cry during sex because I'm happy to be having sex.

They have a word for "emotional cheating by text" already, it's called talking. He's talking to her.

Amusing that Orwell missed the mark on Newspeak so dramatically ... it isn't the government that seems intent on changing the language but the news media and society in general

Stupid term. Real problem.

Hint: if you wouldn't want your SO to read what you're saying to this person, you're cheating.

That's insane. You're media-shaming.

Yeah, tell me about it when a single mom is homeless and on assistance because she is underemployeed.

Yeah, What did Orwell know... Sheesh.

Anyone else make words using Chex cereal? That was my first thought.

Damn, I'm hungry now... :D

Stopped reading that when I saw it was written by a woman and the marriage counselor was also a women.

“The whole emotional experience of texting in and of itself takes on meaning and significance,” said Dr. Greer.

Emotional experience of texting? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Get the fuck outta here with that new-wave shit.

“Truly the question becomes, are you texting somebody else things, content, material that you’re not sharing with your partner,” said Dr. Greer.

Uhhh... I do this all the time, it's called 'work'.

Shit article from a Doctor in the useless field of psychology. /thread

We'll make it easy for you and just force you to drink everything out of a bottle that says "haterade" on it. Hater.

but if you prefer the more Zen approach, "“Holding anger is a poison...It eats you from inside...We think that by hating someone we hurt them...But hatred is a curved blade...and the harm we do to others...we also do to ourselves.” ― The Five People You Meet in Heaven :D ... so I will go rake my Zen Garden in penance

Oh man, this is hilarious. "Experts say it is the latest frontier in betrayal." hahahahah

Textbook women magazines speech.

It's a REAL issue... Just recently went through this... A friend I've known for over 4 years messaged me that her SO was jealous that we texted and Spoke to each other and we could No Longer be friends... I was unfriended and blocked on FB, text messages and emails blocked... This is person I helped get an apartment, helped to buy clothes for her child... Her EX was jealous also, He kicked her out and kept all the kids stuff (he got caught cheating)... I was nothing but nice to her and had over 4 years of friendship thrown away like so much trash...

Wow..so if I talk about certain things with my male friends that I don't with my SO does that mean I'm also gay? Because that is the insipid string of logic you just used.

No, of course you can't sit and text with that girl telling her how awesome she is and wanting to do everything with her. Get over it, you are friend zoned and move on. Also if she stops talking to you because her SO said to, you really weren't a good friend in her eyes anyways and you didn't lose anything.

I used to talk with this married (MILF) chic and she'd tell me all sorts of shit she shouldn't be telling any male but her husband. She'd tell me when she was buying new Victoria Secrets stuff, how her next husband would be her last, or how her husband and her don't doing anything sexual anymore (why she buying lingerie..lol), or even how 'I wouldn't be able to handle her in bed'. Her Mom lives down the street and she'd always go there and then come to my house, wearing sexy ass clothing, ALWAYS flirting.

We spent more time talking in person, on the phone at night (when her man worked nights), and texting throughout the day. We probably spent more time talking than her and her husband for months as he worked his ass off 60-70 hours a week (good guy, too). This didn't end like you'd think though, she ended up making me not even like her personality with how shallow she was (always tried to hit me up for money, too, nope!), and I just told her told F-off one day and that was that. The' End. :p

It's a REAL issue...

It's definitely a real issue, just don't think it needed a new word...lol.

Yeah guys get turned on when they read about "naughty" things someone wants to do to them, similar to that same "emotional experience" we get when watching porn.

Were talking about a woman here right? An animal driven by emotion that makes decisions based on emotions, who's judgement is forever influenced by her hormones.

I never thought of women this way until my wife started menopause. Dudes if you haven't experienced this then you have no idea, they are crazy, insane, whooo hooo. Hell, they even know their messed up while it's going on and can't stop themselves, just wait and see for yourselves.

Solution;
Do not try to reason with someone who is not rational.
Stay to yourself, do your job, and remember the magic words because they still work, "I love you, and you're right dear." Beyond that, don't trust anything that comes out of her mouth and send her to the kitchen where she belongs.

Are your male friends someone you would consider fucking?

No, but neither are any of my female friends. I was just following your line of logic to its stupid conclusion.

People who are going to cheat aren't the same as those who won't. Blanket statements that lump all of them into the same group are just plain stupid. I have had plenty of conversations with friends that I haven't with my wife, she has had plenty of conversations with her friends that she hasn't with me. It is this little thing called Trust. You know, that thing that overbearing control freaks who assume that just because their SO talks to another person of the opposite sex they are about to cheat any second don't have. BOOM PANTIES ON THE GROUND!..

First time I liked an icpiper post.:eek::)

Okay then. Perhaps a bit of critical thinking might have led you to the conclusion that I wasn't talking about people you wouldn't fuck.

Perhaps a bit of critical thinking might of let you realize that texting != cheating. Emotional cheating is a flat out bullshit phrase invented by women..If nothing physical happened, cheating didn't happen. It's akin to saying I cheated because I watched some porn and fapped . Utter and complete garbage.

So if you fall in love with someone else and talk to them romantically and sext with them...but you didn't actually physically cheat, it's totally cool.

Yeah, good luck with that line.

Fantasy and Reality are two different things.
