This is pretty damn creepy. I don't even know what a "Hardcore social media scholar Bacon ninja" is, and I'm not sure I want to be followed by one either. :eek:

A swarm of 30 women with sexy profile pictures had just followed her on the social networking service. "guys wtf 30 PORNSTARS JUST FOLLOWED ME WHATS HAPPENING," she tweeted to her 600 or so followers.

One of my girl friends has at least 3 "mock" accounts used for deception, so I guess they could be women, but I don't doubt most of these pornstar-related accounts are just old wankers

This is why, this screams attention whore, having 600 people follow her who she doesn't know at all, even if most of them are due to her being at a big school she doesn't know most of them at all.

Here I was hoping Twitter was doing future career mapping algorithms. Oh, well just looks like a badly implemented linking script.
 
What they need to do is penalize the companies that use companies like this to advertise. If a company pays an advertising company that they spams the heck out of people (like the Kaplan University spam I get about a dozen times per day) and ignore unsubscribe requests, then that company should be penalized as well as the spammer. That would make this stop.
