Without a large amount of fanfare and little explanation, Microsoft has released an out of hand patch for Internet Explorer 11, which is available for download through the normal Windows Update procedure.

The patch is described on a Microsoft support page, which says simply that the file is supposed to improve "the reliability of Internet Explorer 11."
