Hello,
Building a ZFS server that will run FreeBSD and I was looking at using a couple of M1015 flashed to LSI9211-8i for my WD red 3tb drives. Does this M1015 controller after flashed to LSI9211-8i firmware allow hot swap capabilities? I would like to be able to add/remove drives without having to power off the box. I believe this requires AHCI support of the controller and I would like to know if these have that support.

Thanks!

Why would it require ahci? ahci is a driver interface to replace ide. This is a sas controller.

I suppose the fact I am using sata drives on a SAS controller makes it a bit confusing is all. I am not as familiar with enterprise equipment as I would like to be. Thanks for the clarification.
