Check out this site called Infinite Street View. Instead of traveling down streets, you punch in any address, select a radius up to 10 miles and hit enter. The result is columns of random Street View snapshots from within the area you selected.
 
Guess everyone found out about this site today. Site down until tomorrow. They have exceeded the google api limit for the day.

This site managed to exceed the Google Street View API's limit of 500,000 requests per day. Sorry for the inconvenience, things will be back online tomorrow.

Perhaps to a quick idea of the area you will be potentially moving to, traveling to, making a craigslist transaction in/at, etc....
