Want a HDD docking station with support for two drives simultaneously? Then this Thermaltake BlacX Duet HDD Docking Station review at eTeknix should be of interest.

The BlacX Duet that we are going to take a look at today is one such example of a product that differs from the rest and this is noticeably with its capability to dock two drives at once allowing for simultaneous connectivity rather than having two separate docks. A device like this may be particularly useful for cloning drives and copying data, so performance from this product is going to be important and we will take a particular look at this later on in one of our benchmarking suites.

I had a docking station before that broke but I had only used it for personal drives. Once they I was done swapping out my 80gig's and 100gigs I had no use for it except later on down the road when I wanted to pull stuff off of my mom's drive and it was no longer working.

I don't know if I'll ever need one, but I wouldn't mind having another one just for the kicks of it but a dual one is just not really appealing to me, especially if it increases the price.

I just read that review, because the features sounded nice. But it was only USB 2.0 and there were typos in the manual, an indication of poor quality control. So, great idea, not-so-great execution. Too bad. I would have bought this product in a flash if it had gotten good reviews.

I have the USB 2.0 / eSATA version and the 5G USB 3.0 / eSATA version. eSATA is flakey as hell and sometimes decides to work or not, needing multiple power ups at time. Has me worried about the stress it causes to the hard drives. USB works great, however. I only have one issue with USB not recognizing a 3TB drive on the 5G.
