Help: Dolby Digital Live! no longer an option in Realtek HD audio manager

I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 and since the new install, I no longer have an option in the Realtek HD Audio Manager to enable Dolby Digital Live for my optical out on my PC. The option was available before I reinstalled.

I am using a Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3 rev 1.3 motherboard with the Realtek ALC889 audio chip. I tried installing the driver that came with my motherboard on the CD and also the latest driver off the Gigabyte site for my motherboard. Neither are working.

Has anybody run into this issue? It is driving me bonkers.
 
It's not there? I've got it as an option in both the digital optical and digital tabs:

This is with the latest drivers from the Gigabyte site... Sometimes the ones direct from Realtek are lacking certain options so I usually stay away from them.
 
Yeah, I used the drivers on the driver disk that came with the motherboard and also the ones from the Gigabyte site. Neither show that option.

I will try the Realtek drivers

So I uninstalled the drivers, used Driver Cleaner to delete any trace of them off my computer, reinstalled the drivers off the Realtek website. No dice.

So I uninstalled the Realtek website drivers, ran Driver Cleaner again, and installed the latest drivers off the Gigabyte site. Still no dice.

I dont know what I did to piss off the Dolby Digital Live gods, but they are truly hating on me.
 
I just checked via team viewer...not at home. Its not showing up there either. Dolby digital shows up under the supported formats screen and it will output in 5.1. It looks like its just missing the live option
 
I just realized that this issue is probably due to the fact that I flashed Gigabyte's UEFI BIOS for my motherboard and it is not seeing that it is allowed to have DDL

Ouch! so I am on the uefi bios as well and mine is working. Looks like they must have missed something with yours. Hope they get it sorted!
 
Just an update:

Gigabyte just released UEFI BIOS version U1h for my Z68XP-UD3 and what do you know, they fixed the DDL! And the BIOS actually seems to hold an overclock (although an option for LLC is still missing).
 
Technically, realteak audio chipsets have supported DDL/DTS-C for a long time now, but its rare the motherboard manufactueres ever enable it (don't want to pay licensing fees). I'd check to see if the mobo itself is supposed to "support" DDL.
