I played the game just fine yesterday running 12.6 WHQL drivers. Installed 12.7 and am getting the following bug.

When outdoors (indoors the hud scales properly), my hud is stretching beyond the screen. See link for screenshot

I have cleared my .inis and local preferences, reinstalled Skyrim, and tried out a new save. No luck.

No overclock on the GPU and all other games work fine. Anyone else having this issue with yesterday's 12.7 driver and CAP?

I completely forgot about this thread. If you open SkyrimPrefs.ini and change the line "iShadowMapResolution=xx" to anything other than 4096, it's fine.

2048 is the 'High' value, 4096 is the 'Ultra' value and 8192 is the 'OMG why does it lags so much?' value.

Apparently they are aware of this issue.

I have reverted to 12.6, I don't want to play with downgraded shadows. I hope they fix this for the official 12.7 release, since there should be big performance gains on Skyrim with 12.7, at least according to AMD.

give me a break, i can barely tell the difference between ultra and high shadows.

If you're so adamant about your shadows quality then feel free to increase it to 8192.

I tried that solution you suggest with the 12.7 beta's. The HUD issues still persisted. Reverted to the 12.6 and have no issues as far as I can see. I haven't confirmed that crossfire is actually working now, but at least with crossfire enabled, the game plays very smooth.

Are you sure? Because I'm using the 12.7 beta right now with shadows @ 2048 and it's fine.

you only need to change it to high in the launcher

Then there's something wrong with your computer because this fixes it for everyone else.

To me there's a discernible difference, so I decided to roll back to 12.6. It's a free world.

Tried that, and I screamed "OMG why does it lag so much?" ;)

Are you sure you didn't mistakenly change iShadowMapResolutionSecondary or iShadowMapResolutionPrimary? I did the first time and nothing happened, then I looked again and found iShadowMapResolution which is the correct property to tweak.

By the way, for those on Xfire and 12.6, there's a bug which 12.7 kills. It's the one where your system menu, quest journal, local map and so on flicker and flash in yellow and green.

One of my mods is a fix for this, so if you want to stick to 12.6 for a while yet, here it is:

Positive I did it correctly. I check and recheck my changes enough to appeal any OCD plauged individual.
I will tinker with it some more when time allows. Not really a huge deal considering I have another system that is usually used to play Skyrim.
