Who cares if Russia ends up being the first country to use a high-tech pain ray for crowd control? The USA still has the most potent pain-inducing weapon ever used on the general population...taxes. :D

Russia's Defense Ministry is testing a new nonlethal ray gun for use on protesters, which looks like a close facsimile of the American system in development. The difference could be that the Russians are willing to use it.

I would have said the most potent pain-inducing weapon ever used that America owns would be Justin Bieber :D

The sad part about this is how many animals are being tortured to test the pain ray.

Looks like those Russian spies kicked out a while back that were hob nobing with Senators got something before they were deported.

I have an organic method of crowd control.

Works pretty good.

I was going with Lady GaGa for the most pain.:)

Lady GagMe is far wose than Justin Bieber because Justin has his own Linux distro! I haven't tried it yet though because I very much prefer Hannah Montana Linux since it's a more serious attempt at being useful. Since my LG Vortex died, I don't have a pic of it on my current computer, but I did snap a photo of it running on my HP NC4010 last year before a Diet Coke spill made it go *zoot!* and die. I'll miss it, but I'm rambling so I'll go away now. :)

:cool:A better solution would be to change the government.

I wonder how long it will take for someone to come up with a cheap effective shielding method to make this "weapon" useless?

Maybe it could be made to only hurt a specific body part, say, the rectum. "Dude, I'd join the protest, but it's too much of a pain in the ass." :)

The taxes bit is funny. Unfortunately, it also gives the impression that other countries have less/no taxes. There is no socialist/communist country that has a lower effective taxing of their citizens than the United States. In fact, in a true iteration of socialism/communism, you see the government owning everything and/or being the single payer and only employer.

Think 1980s Soviet Russia when you think of how other options work.

How's that working out for France? Do you really want mile long food lines, like the USSR had?

When you poke fun at capitalism, you run the risk of younger generations thinking that the other options are better, and they blindly push for change.

I like my Big Mac, Coca-Cola, and Rock-n-Roll country. I liked it better when there were less free handouts for lazy people.

All your pain rays, death rays & tin foil shield suits are belong to us. They were invented and produced by us, and will be sold by us to whomever us deems appropriate......

as for beiberfag & gagaragra, well that was just us having a little fun, at you humanoids expense, of course :D

That statement is just so Wrong on different levels... but its still funny! :D

Don't stand in the path of the pain ray, and you don't feel pain. Throw Molotov on pain ray from behind cover and that expensive high-tech toy is trumped by a very effective and cheap low-tech counter. Technology + heat = fail. Ask anyone that's not cleaned their computer case in a while. ;)

I'd be willing to bet they could place this system in a vehicle that would shrug off a Molotov. At most it would smoke up the windows so the vehicle couldn't be driven and pursue. I mean, it's gasoline. The materials needed to resists a few liters of burning petroleum isn't that hard to assemble. The hardest part would be designing a vehicle would would insure firebombs would not affect mobility and function, of which I'm sure multiple designs already exist.
