Odd or Even number of drives in RAID 6

I recall reading that a RAID 6 array will perform best with an even number of drives, while RAID 5 performs best with an odd number of drives? Is there any truth to this?
 
If anything, it's 2^n+1 drives for RAID5 and 2^n+2 drives for RAID6.
