Legit or not, these days it just isn't smart to be affiliated with a BitTorrent tracker...unless you want to be sued or arrested. :(

This week an operation led by a powerful anti-piracy group closed down a 6-year-old BitTorrent tracker. The site had already been targeted following the verdict in the original Pirate Bay trial, but had quickly announced their intentions to go 100% legal. This week, however, people said to be behind the site were arrested. Most surprisingly, one of them was the owner of the company supplying them bandwidth.

I think they are right and should not have been able to arrest him. Honestly these anti pirate ppl are just scum being paid by the media companys. Anti-piracy laws are getting far too out of hand.

How are these people, who are providing a service which itself is not illegal, supposed to ensure that none of their thousands (probably tens or hundreds, maybe more) of users don't upload something illegal? There just isn't enough time to do such things.

Google and every other search engine supply plenty of copyright and outright illegal content. Why aren't they all under fire? Every try "filetype:torrent" in Google, it's so convenient.

better start arresting state highway officials because people are speeding on their highwasy...

Well the thing is, they had to let him go because all that they did was pretty much illegal.

Apparently LEA's forgot that you needed silly things like court orders to actually arrest someone like they did and seize their possessions.

It would be nice if these headlines could specify that this happened in Sweden or whatever other foreign country, as the case may be. No sense letting people assume that it's a US thing if that's not the case.

This whole anti piracy thing has certainly gone too far. They are treating it as if its something more serious than serial murderer or organised criminal gangs.

Maybe in the primative 20th century. The biggest issues they had back then was flying, splitting the atom and going to moon. We dealing with fucking terrorists........TERRORISTS!

Next time set up your trackers in China. Chinese dont worry about piracy as long you are not gathering in numbers to organize a demonstration

OMG, you told people how to search for torrents on Google!! Now they are all going to come arrest you!!

These antipiracy groups are an example of how the few are going to ruin it for the many. People are going to get so fed up with anti-piracy laws and their draconian, unpredictable enforcement that they'll throw them all out.

So sad that all this money is being spent to "fight"piracy. That's where all the money lost is going :) They should spend most of their time using the money for other things like feeding the poor or something. I have more, but don't want to go on my rant.
