I find it odd that the mainstream media covers every "video games are evil" story on the planet but you never hear about stories like this. I know Tim Schafer and, although he (and the Double Fine crew) didn't do this for publicity or attention, I think they deserve props for what they've done here.

Machado endured two unsuccessful surgeries in five months to try and treat the condition, with another on the way. Despite being out of contact with him for years, the folks at Double Fine sent along a hand-drawn card filled with well wishes for Machado. (There was a bunch of Double Fine swag along with it but the card's really a one-of-a-kind thing.)

Yeah, kotaku's title wording was a bit better. Cool story though, and I like that his name is Chris. That's my name too, so I can print this out and pretend like people care about me. :)
