In a study conducted by internet security firm Blue Coat System, malware purveyors prefer the easier pickings of search engines over porn sites as launching grounds for their malware deployment by a wide margin.

Almost 40 percent of malware hijackings start at search engines, especially within image results strewn with malware mines, what Blue Coat calls "Search Engine Poisoning."

because you make a site that looks like google, no ones going to bother checking the URL and type away.

Another thing my wife did, she installed something on my HTPC last year that hijacked my homepage to a search engine with a globe + magnifying glass on it. Asked her what she did and she lied to me saying she made the homepage Google (my homepage is the [H]).

She was actually using it! ARGH, so I changed the password, she still isn't happy about it until I showed her what windows defender popped up with.
