 Prices subject to change without notice.

yea, but sadly it suffers from the BSOD issues.

I have one and have not seen one BSOD yet, not one (literally). Also, I heard from release day that the newer Corsair SSD's are crap, just crap. However as my disclaimer, I haven't watched the reviews there after (they might have gotten better with a newer firmware or something).

slavearm: I think you may need to (your choice) update your signature..lol

travel on over to both OCZ and Corsair forums. I keep an eye on them daily and both the Force Series 120 and Vertex 120 / 120 MI suffer from freezes/stuttering/bsod. Firmware 2.09 or w/e seems to have fixed the issue for most people, but there are still others suffering from the problem. Also, the reviews I've read put the GT on par with the Vertex MI. I've yet to jump on either due to the potential issues that could arise and I'm waiting for a 100% fix.

Was OCZ firmware version 2.08 the one people said to avoid and now 2.09 is better (is there a performance hit)? Or is 2.09 the one some are avoiding too? My OCZ Max IOPS is using version 2.02.

I haven't paid enough attention (I admit)

um they say go to 2.08, if there's any issues then go to 2.09. Others say go straight to 2.09 (there's a sequence of updates, you can't just flash 2.02 to 2.09 i don't believe). Some say its a coin toss on performance from 2.08 to 2.09. Most say 2.08 fixes most issues and increases performance close to spec. I've seen people say no loss when going to 2.09, some say 2.09 had a 20% loss some had a 20% gain.

Also, there have been posts on Corsair as of late about the GT complaining about the same issues pertaining to lockups/stuttering and BSOD. I was hesitant since it seems the drives with the sandforce controller are suffering and this one has that controller and corsair claimed it doesn't suffer but now we see it does. I questioned that statement directly at corsair and was told the GT has no issues, guess that was a lie. I'm waiting to grab a vertex 3 or force 3 until every issue has been resolved. I don't want to have to go through a 15 step process to "potentially" get a working drive and if not I'll have to secure erase and try again until I get it working.

From OCZ site...just an fyi

1. If you are experiencing issues with BSOD in Windows, use OCZ Toolbox v2.38-209 to upgrade the firmware in your SSD to v2.09.

2. Note that if your SSD contains firmware version lower than 2.06, a two-step process will be required to upgrade the firmware first to 2.06 and then to version 2.09. In such a case, use OCZ Toolbox v2.38-209 first to upgrade to v2.06 and then again to upgrade to v2.09.

3. If your SSD already contains firmware version 2.06, OCZ Toolbox v2.38-209 will upgrade the firmware to v2.09 in one step.

VERSION 2.38

Updating the firmware from the toolbox is not supported when Windows is running off the drive you are trying to update.

see i'm following all the threads and the mods state that there is no reason to go to 2.09 unless you're having problems with 2.08.

I got a feeling the AMD Phenom II X4s are gonna hit $50 by October
