I'm trying to do a fresh install of a Vostro 3550 laptop. It came with digitalPersona software installed but it's not available from the Dell website, just the driver. Even the recovery disc that came with it from Dell does not have the software, just driver.

Is there any place to download it from?

Did you get an applications CD/DVD? Is there a recovery partition?

Yes, there is a disc but it only has the driver, not the software. I don't want to use recovery partition backup because it comes with all the bloat.

*deleted original post about downloading from HP*

I was able to use the built in Dell restore feature by reinstalling the backup software, thus granting access to the hidden partition. I restored the system to factory default image. After that, I started digging and within c:\programdata I found the Digital Persona 5.02 .msi file. Copied it to a thumb drive, then blew it away again. Problem solved.
