This is their new mice that is comming out soon I think. I don't see any reviews and much info about it yet.

if they go the method that microsoft did, most likely it will still be a wireless mouse but can charge while playing when connected
 
I like the look, but four thumb bottoms just seems overkill. I think I'd be afraid of mashing two at once with my big hands and fingers.

And those buttons to the left of the left mouse button are odd. What would I use those for?

Maybe for on the fly sensitivity adjustment like the ones on the Mamba? :confused::confused:

Speaking of which, I'm looking for a replacement for mine(Mamba.) I think this one may very well fit the bill (I'm never buying a non-Logitech mouse again.)
 
I want details too, but this looks promising. Could be the mouse that finally retires my first gen G5.

Why are there three?!!? They've got some 'splaining to do about how they designed this. I do want more info on it though.
 
Looks like a customizable 3 button sensor. Or just perhaps low, medium, and high.
 
They're all labeled as G buttons other than the top one below the scroll wheel, which looks like a mode switched maybe?
 
Whoa, then it's basically confirmed. Nice find nsx! I may have a new contender for if I return the R.A.T. 7 coming tomorrow. The mouse that you really want to like, but really can't stand.

I wouldn't hold my breath. But that would be awesome; I'd be the first in line to have a mechanical keyboard paired with Logitech's CS.

Indeed it would. That would be the way to top-off their keyboards.
 
All of the G buttons can be mapped to other keys or macros.

Looks like a total of 11 buttons, Left, Right, and Center, and the Rest are G Labeled.
The button behind the scroll wheel is the hyper scroll normal scroll toggle.

Why would they bother when they have no problems selling membrane crap for the price filco asks for their keybords ;)
 
Ugh, I hope that cord functions as a wired connection as well as a charger. Never liked the idea of wireless mice for gaming, regardless if its just "in my head" or not. Im not doing the competitive gaming bit any more but when I used to that was always a no-no.

If that can also act as a USB input that I very well may sell my G9 and custom ID Grip as well.
 
I don't really like the detachable cable concept, even if it can do wireless and wired modes, but we'll see how it does when it's in the hands of the masses. And if the G700 is to the G500, I hope there's a G10x in response to the G9x, with wired only and the whole shabang.

I wouldn't mind that at all. I mainly want the shape of the g700 and the additional buttons and locations.

And of course, wired. :)
 
That mouse is extremely fucking temping. =/ Two side buttons honestly isn't enough for me. My G9 isn't even that old so I'm kind of torn.
 
type of sensor? logitech usually uses avago and has lately used avago 9500 in their G series.
 
Noticed this has the sensor placed at the top of the mouse, similar to the G500. Is there a verdict on whether that's a better location than the center placement of the g9?

I prefer the sensor placed more towards the middle of the mouse, but it's not a dealbreaker. I could instantly tell that something was "off" with my G500 when I first used it, and didn't realize what until someone else pointed it out. But it's not like it makes the mouse unusable. I only tend to notice it because I switch back and forth between mice fairly often. If you use the G500/G700 exclusively, you'll likely get used to it quickly if it's even an issue for you in the first place (some people in the G500 thread didn't even notice it).

Of the three top wireless mice available (Mamba, X8, G700), I think Logitech's offering will be the best. Razer's quality is questionable and the Mamba has the z-axis issue. The X8 is a nice mouse but just too darn large for me. The G700 looks a bit hefty, but at least it's got the familiar shape that so many of us love and more buttons than all the rest of them. Not to mention Logitech's awesome warranty & customer service. All this at a price point considerably lower than that of the Mamba ($129).

I think Logitech may have a winner on their hands. Or we might have a winner in/under our hands. However you want to look at it!
 
I've been hoping from the bottom of my heart since MX700 days that Logitech would make a high dpi wireless mouse with replaceable battery. This mouse has that, and it's got USB recharge/connect along with that horizontal scrolling badassery. I think I am in love.
 
anyone know when this is supposed to be released?

for some reason my pc wont load newegg.com so i cant see if they have a ship date and it doesnt say anything on the logitech website either.

EDIT: it wont load with firefox for whatever reason, i see it comes out the 16th of august.
 
I posted a review on the Logitech UK website, where it has been available to order since the 5th Aug. I received it in the post yesterday. The review hasn't shown up yet, so here it is..

I have been using this mouse for the last one and a half days, and it’s the best mouse I have ever used. I only use Logitech mice, and I have previously owned the MX518, G7, and a cheapy wireless. The MX518 is great in use, light and functional with great gliding, but the wire gets in my way. The G7 is great in theory, but is unusable due to bad wireless connectivity issues. The cheapy wireless is the mouse I use the most, as the wireless never fails. The G700 is kind of like all thouse mice, but much better.

The mouse has 13 buttons which are customizable to 5 profiles which can be saved into the mouse’s internal memory. This lets you take the mouse and these profiles to other PC's without the Setpoint software. Very nice. These customizations are programmed using the Setpoit GUI, which seems to be custom built for the G700. Other logitech gear uses another GUI similarto older Setpont 4.xx software. The G700 GUI is a little bland to be honest, and an option to increase font size should be included, as the text is too small to read comfortably on the 28" monitors native res of 1920x1200. I prefer the old GUI for the MX518 or G7 in the advanced options with the snazzy graphics. More user friendlyness is need here. In terms of functionality, it blows everything else out of the water and in the limited time I have had to use it, i have not even scratched the surface.You can customize all buttons except the main selector click, and save to 5 profiles for loading onto the mouse, or profiles setup for individual applications, which as far as I can tell, there are no limits to the number of profiles. Each button can be assigned any function from a long list, or any assigned key from the keyboard, or any key combination, or macros (this includes timing as well I believe). One important thing I should mention is that when setting up forward and back buttons, you have the option to select "Forward" & "Back from the function list, but in use this can cause issues in some web browsers to go forward or back twice. Instead, assign "Generic 4" & "Generic 5", as these are the standard forward and back button recoginised by windows. You can set the DPI to 1 - 5 selectable modes from 200 - 5700 DPI. You can then assign 2 buttons to go up and down the modes you have chosen, or assign 1 button to loop though your modes, freeing up one of your buttons. If saving profiles to your mouse, reserve G11 to change profile modes. You can set pollong rate per profile also from 25hz - 1000hz. The GUI also lets you update Setpoint, and more interestingly, there's an option to update the mouse firmware. Finally, there are 3 options for battery settings, Power saver, Normal Gaming, Max Gaming. I haven’t tested these out, but I can say there is no lag from being off or standby.

The build quality is mosty great. I like the soft grain plastic for the sides, and the matt plastic for the top, as they seem quite durable.Ii would have prefered a rubberized coating for the sides, which I think would have given this mouse an extra layer of quaility, but I hear of other mice with this that start to peel with time. The scroll buttons (centre, left and right) are not equal on my mouse. The right is too easy to click, the left is too hard. The scroll function is a joy to use, and it’s my first freewheel on the logitech mouse. All G buttons (G4-G11) have a low impact silent click which are very nice. Some people may comment on how they protrude too far from the unit, but in practice, i don’t find this an issue at all. In fact the four side buttons need to be distinctive enough to find press individually, and it is done here with great design. Same goes for the 3 buttons on the left click, as all different in shape enough to destiguish from each other.

In use find this to be fantastic. It glides well on the Steel series OCK mat i use, more than any other. It fits my hand of medium size very well. It’s large enough for a comfortable palm grip, or the claw grip. In desktop, I use the mouse to control volume and mute for music and videos, zooming in, going back and forwards on web pages. I play Starcraft 2, which I have buttons configured especially for hotkeys in game, which is more than handy. It recharged the battery it came with in less than 2 hours. The wired mode is seemless. No lag from off mode or standby. No lag from Wireless conncetion. No lag or stutter of mouse pointer movement, smooth as butter. Battery still going from first charge.

Apart from some minor niggles, this is the best mouse ever.

By the way, I have considered all gaming wireless mice in the past month from various manufacturers, and I put them all off hoping that logitech would make one combining all the best features of those out in the market today. And they did. Anounced on Thursaday. Bought on Thursday, arrived Tuesday. Not bad for a Holland to UK free delivery! Good work Logitech!

Thanks for the comments -Foxhound-. Would you be willing to post a couple of dimensions? Logitech always ignore this detail on their spec sheet. Length, and width across the grip - say from the centre of the thumb buttons to the opposite side (I'm trying to figure out if this mouse would be small enough to use a finger tip grip comfortably)

so do i, but you're missing the RAT 9... i think i'll swap my mamba for the g700, but i would prefer the old g7 method of the two batteries... that was the choice for the RAT 9, so i just want to try it for the final choice :)

if the shape/feel of the rat 9 is near the g7, then the choice will be harder :)
