How to connect a laptop touchpad to a PS/2 port

I salvaged this Synaptics touchpad from a demolished HP laptop a while ago but wasn’t sure what to use it for…until now. Using a PS/2 cable from an old mouse and a 4-pin interface from some random pcb I was able to make an adapter for it. The touchpad now functions like a regular PS/2 mouse.

Oh nice. Modding an keyboard to have a touchpad for an HTPC sounds fun.

Very cool - I don't think I'll be ripping mine out anytime soon though : )
