I'm looking for good RAM for my GA-EP45-UD3R Rev.1. I've looked at the recommended memory list at the Gigabyte site and it's pretty out dated and not all that useful for finding current RAM.

Any suggestions? I'm looking for 4GB, preferably 2x2GB since I'll be installing 64-bit Win7 in the near future.

thanks!

Just do a power sort on newegg.
Select 2x2GB kit
Select Corsair/OCZ/Crucial/Kingston
Select probably DDR2-1066 I'm guess is the speed you want.
Select cheapest.

Planning to overclock? Most modules will overclock somewhat, but if your wanting to really top the charts it can get tricky finding just which modules, and the ic's, and their steppings, etc do the best.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, I'm planning on doing some overclocking with my E6550.

I have 2 of these boards, 1 with 1066 OCZ reapers and 1 with gskill 800. both 2x2 and both work great.

I've got the same board and I am replacing my crucial DDR2 - 800's I've got four 1GB sticks and one of them is dead now. I'd like to go with at least one kist of 2x2GB and maybe two kits but the prices are so high right now.
I can't decide which ones to go with.

I also have GA-EP45-UD3R Rev.1 and G.Skill 2x2GB link at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231209

One of best and that works right out of box and read customer review lots of UD3R reports.

Mine can clock up 500 stable.

Thanks for all the replies! I actually decided to go with 4x2GB instead so I'll be going with 2 pair of whatever I buy.

I had narrowed down my choice to these sticks - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166 but I'll take a look at those PI sticks.

Am I limiting myself by getting 800 instead of 1066? I do want to do some overclocking with my E6550.

The sticks you listed are 1066... same sticks I have in the system in my sig.

800 sticks would limit your max FSB on that board.

Yea, I meant in reference to the PI sticks phatbx133 mentioned above, they are 800s. I'm only looking to oc the proc on air so I'm not going to get to nuts with it.
