My friend got a 4400+ recently and is using an the Zalman Fatal1ty 120mm on it. I can get the new heatsink fan with the copper heat pipes for free. If I use the new HSF with some AS5, could I expect any lower temps than I am currently getting on the older/regular AMD HSF with stock thermal pad?

3700+ @ 2.6ghz at 1.45v
237mhz - 2.5-3-2-5 at 2.8v
4x HTT

Load Tmp-------------41c
System Tmp--------34c

Idle Tmp---------------31c
System Tmp---------29c

Just wonder if this would be a decent (free) upgrade. All I would have to do is purchase some AS5. :) Thanks for your time.

I got the new AMD HSF. I'm going to be ordering some AS5 today. Does anyone want me to take pictures of the older AMD hsf beside the new one?

it dropped my temps by about 10 degrees all around or so, thats with another 100mhz added on top too :)

Same temp drop for me as well :D

I'm wanting to hit 2.8ghz with my 3700+.... :p

I'd love to hit 3ghz, but I don't think I'll be able to do that on air, lol.

The 200mhz difference between 2.8ghz and 3ghz is a minimal performance increase anyways.
