jup having exactly the same here (ati card though). I instantly notice cause i have the 2405 and a 17" crt side by side. On the crt its smooth and direct, on the 2405 (or probably any lcd) its slow and has lag. I kinda helped it with boosting the usb rate to 500 and putting the slider in display...

Drivers helped a great bit but still experiencing some lag. My mouse cursor runs much smoother on the 17" then on the beast. Maybe its something I just have to get used to.

Just received mine an its amazing :) No dead pixels \o/. I have one problem though, my mouse lags in games like quake 3 and cs. Is this something i can resolve using drivers (have mx310 now without logitech drivers) or is this something standard when using tft's?

Contrast ratio is better, viewing angels are better, there is no visible ghosting (IPS panel may be better all around in ms but if there's no visible ghosting who cares). Those three are the most important aspects when choosing between LCD's. Since all of these factors are better on the 2405fpw...

Get the 2405! its superiour in every way and holds a brand new panel of samsung. More over the price is much better than the apples. Oh and do remember the Apple just gives 1 year of warranty where Dell gives 3 years!

If you're such a diehard gamer and care so much about framerate, why even use LCD's and post here, CRT's are the way to go cause any resolution will look great. I'll enjoy this new panel and play games with fluent framerates, mainly Quake III :D. Oh and calling me a noobie, plz...get a life.

I don't understand some of you! Why would you be dissapointed in a choppy fps rate @ 1920x1200? I mean you buy a monitor to last at least 3 years imo. By that time videocards won't have any problem with that res. and you have a monitor that can handle it. Besides, what the h*ll does a choppy fps...

One would think that fsaa at such a resolution is not really necessary anymore. I remember in resolutions like 800x600 en 1024x768 fsaa would make a huge difference to me. Though I'm not speaking from experience 1600x1200 or even 1920x1200 would not really need fsaa cause the 'lines' would have...

I'm buying the monitor primarely for doing 2d and 3d design and I just love having a big workspace. I sold my 22" crt about 6 months ago thinking I would get a new lcd soon. Since then I've had a 17" to play with, just happy I waited long enough. As for Quake 3, it won't run nicely on lcd's...

Or just pick the 1:1 ratio so you just have all black around the resolution you choose though you'll really have the sharpest picture possible. This is especially convenient for playing shooters, since i play quake 3 allot and want to see everything at once. 24" will be too big for that :D...

Sorry if this has been confirmed by reliable sources before, but the big IF is still whether the Dell is gonna use those new 24" samsung lcd panels. Ofcourse everybody is already foaming at the mouth for these nice lcd's to come out but I've never read from samsung or dell that those panels will...

Right now i'm getting tired of the waiting game and want a new screen. I have the option to get the benq/hp lg.philips 23" panel or for 100 euro more 3x the 2001fp from dell. Still haven't decided what i'm gonna do... Anyway is it possible to drive 3 monitors with 2 cards ( sli or agp+pci)...

It's about the panels, since samsung just introduced the new panel in some other display with extra multimedia capabilities for 4999,- it seems highly unlikely that dell is gonna get the panel for around the 1000,- , even with coupons etc. The big if is whether this panel is actually gonna be...

if it gets the samsung panel which is likely don't bet on a price of $1000...rather $2000. The samsung 24" widescreen panel is gonna be one of the best on the market and they'll probably want to translate that in $$$. If its gonna be $2000 I'll still get it ofcourse ;) .

Just get the xbright screen. If you see all the screens next to eachother the sony blows them all away by mere contrast. If you want speed get the normal tft screen, if you want image quality go for the xbright. Have a sony s170 for a couple of months now and work at creative company where...
