I've got a dual monitor set up so I can watch TV while playing games. When I play WoW in a window, everything is fine on both monitors, and I can see the picture of both the game and WinTV. When I try to play...
Thank you Michael and Sherk. That bit about putting on a quarter inch at a time was a bit of a brain fart - the ding itself is just under a quarter of an inch, and was caused by a lock banging into the frame itself. I never put on layers more than 1/8 of an inch in depth at a time. There are...
This isn't explicitly related to case-modding, but I thought I would post the question here because a lot of people are interested in filling case gaps.
The situation is that I'm currently using body filler (bondo) to fill in some dings on a bicycle frame. I've stripped the paint down to...
Thanks for replying. I already tried to reseat the AGP card, and I don't have any thermal paste on hand (at school without supplies). I also don't have another computer to check my hardware on - I was thinking of going to my school's IT department and begging them for some ghetto AGP card out...
So I was sitting around playing WoW, chattin' it up, whatever. Then the computer crashes. I first figure that it's the 6800gt AGP, cause it's been wonky lately, with the card overheating and fritzing out. I turned the computer off, cleared out the dust, and tried to boot. Nada. The hard...
Awesome replies. I actually just picked up my second monitor - the first one works, it's just...burn-tastic on some spots, haha. I basically taught myself how to solder on it at the same time. Anyway, it does work without the 5v control, it's just that it won't signal to the computer that...
Like the title says, I'm looking for someone who has successfully made the LCD put out a legible picture. I've got the soldering down - I just can't get my Radeon card to recognize the screen as a secondary monitor. Any suggestions?
Hi there. I'm looking to buy a PSOne LCD screen that hasn't been fuxed with. The one that I have right now is sort of...burning. Literally. So...need new parts :D . I'm looking to pay 25 to 30 dollars, or I can trade you some weird stuff (old p4s, praetorian case, old wacom tablet). LMK.
So, like my muppet title says, I broke my windows xp pro. I was playing around with a psone monitor, unplugged the wrong vga cable, and now I can't get the computer to recognize my DVI monitor as the main monitor! I still get a signal from the card to the DVI monitor - I see the boot screen...
Hi, I've got the following parts:
2 Samsung Nidec Drives (sata)
1 Abit IC7-G Max3
1 2.6 P4 with a Zalman flower cooler (not overclocked)
1 6800GT with a Zalman VFC-700
2 512mb sticks of Geil
1 Zalman 300 watt power supply
1 Coolermaster Praetorian with the left panel off, and a 80mm...
eh. i bet performancepcs just opens all their stock, drills it, then puts it back in. and the only reason the box looks different is because someone can't take photograpsh ;) .
a part of me just screams "OMG POWER RANGER! KYOoOoooTE." then i regain composure, and realize the ultra tacky nature still doesn't hide fact that it's got shitty fan placement. :D
there's no way in hell you're going to get a 120 in the back. if you can, cut the top and the front to accept 120s. that's assuming you can get enough airflow through the front for a 120.
VW R32. was looking at it, took it for a ride, then my dad said "nice ride, but the dual exhaust will attract cops (has a dual performance exhaust)." never got it. if any of you live in the northeast, you'd know why i'd want a AWD instead of my breadbox golf right now.
i did that for the first time about a week ago when i was cleaning out my p4. i wiggled it a bit, then pulled, and kablammo! i had a zalman flower and a 2.6 sitting in my hand :p . good thing i was pulling straight up, or i would have had to play "inventive ways to unbend pins." they should...
if it gives you anything to think about, i've been running my ic7-max3 with the NB fan totally off, and it's been fine. i'm using the 80mm zalman flower cooler.
i think those who have screens who only have backlighting issues (and no noticeable dead pixels) have become slowly acclimated to the difference in brightness, and therefore no longer notice it. i say this from experience, because after going through 2 replacements, one of which was the jan a01...
i did the same thing, and i found a quick and easy solution. you can remove the bolt that you screw the vga cable pin into by getting a pair of pliers and unscrewing it from the inside of the pci-plate. then you get to go on a search to find a replacement (mb a pci-vid card somewhere?). good...
This Athenatech might do. It's got a 120mm grill in the back, and a 80mm in the front. You could cut out the sidepanel and just stick a piece of plexiglass on the side to make your own, and you'd have a rather stylish case. Can't help you with the beige - you'd have to paint it yourself.
go ergo keyboards! i refuse to use any other - they don't feel natural. i'm stuck on ps2 because of that, and can't use my wonderful mini hub on my 2005fpw :( . Even better yet, it can be used as a theft deterrent - when people come in my dorm to use my computer, they can't type on the...
I think Porche is a name dropper/company rep. 2 cents. Check out Athenatech - I was about to buy an matx case from them, has a very conservative style, and it fits a 120mm. Otherwise, drill away at a lian-li.
ok, i realize it's a knock off of B&0, but you forgot to include Nakamichi as well. Heck, how about all of those cheap knock offs made by Teac? Thanks for pointing it out what I thought would be obvious - I figured everyone has seen these by now, and hopefully some people even own some of the...
now if any of you were really hardcore and love this design, you'd realize that CD players/basic drives have minimal electronics, and if you really wanted to you could just take out the PCBs and mount them to the inside of the front door. the best i would be able to do would be to wire a CD...
I just got an A01 made in January 2005, and the backlighting problem is the same, if not worse than my A00 from December. That, and there are 2 pixels that are stuck on green. Oh well, I'm satisfied with the one that I have, and I don't care anymore. No dead pixels, and only a backlighting...
if you guys are looking into a quieter solution, you should look at the thermalright xp-120 and a yate loon fan. it's quieter, and not as heavy. i have the 80mm zalman flower cooler, and it weighs a ton. You can pair the xp-120 with this fan. but that's only if you're not looking to oc...
