You know what they call the guy who graduated last in his class at med school with the lowest passable grades? Doctor.
You know what they call low-bitrate sub-FUHD resolution 4K video? 4K video.
Here's why he might be correct.
The Console gaming experience:
1. go to retail store
2. buy game console
3. go home
4. remove from box and plug a few cables in
5. play games for 7 years
6. buy accessories
Now, the Steam machine experience won't be anywhere near as lazy to set up...
They vetoed the ban because they want this case reviewed in court? HA!
Apple was already thrown out of court in a similar case last year because they said they wouldn't comply with any court ordered fees above $1.
Apple doesn't give a flying fuck about FRAND compliance.
You'll still get the option of buying completed $60 games the same way you do now but you'll be able to get cheaper download-only episodic chunks at a faster pace if you CHOOSE to. The game episodes themselves won't "feel" any different than "levels" or "sections" of the full games you play...
Or have one entity actually roll out a 1Gbps+ service at a reasonable price forcing the rest of the ISP market to compete or face a nationwide customer exodus.
Wait....
Google is doing that, aren't they?
Everyone is ignoring one major league possibility...
What if games were served out in smaller but more frequent chunks (Gabe Newell's own vision of episodic gaming)?
What if you could buy and download 5-10 hour game episodes every month or two for about $10 each instead of (or along with)...
I'm a PC enthusiast and I do agree with the guy to some level.
The PC is dying as a consumer computing device... but it won't ever die off completely.
Tablets, hybrid devices, and phones will eventually "be good enough" for the average Joe and even some light enthusiasts.
Will the PC evolve...
You'll be lucky if the next gen consoles manage native 1080p. The current batch barely even manage native 720p.
Most games on consoles are just upscaled sub-HD resolutions.
2 problems;
1. Not everyone can publish a game to iOS. You need to have Apple gear, you need to pay $100 per year, and you NEED TO HAVE YOUR GAME APPROVED BY APPLE.
2. iOS is also a piracy platform... jailbreaking = enabled piracy.
Most OEMs, like Acer, have been producing utter crap for years. That's why Apple has gained traction and Microsoft lost face in recent years.
Acer needs to step off or start making decent gear.
Internet bill: $39.99 per month + fees
Netflix: $8.99 per month
Cable TV: $0
I've never been happier.
Note: Yes, I have a few more alternative sources for my content.
"The bad news for Nvidia -- and for rival chip maker AMD -- is that we’re starting to hear rumblings of new consoles from Microsoft and Sony, and Nintendo has already announced its next-generation Wii U. "
AMD and nVidia are usually manufacturing the GPUs for game consoles. Bad news for...
The big thing with Siri is not only does it simplify the Ux, but it also adds a layer of obfuscation to search. With the purchase of C3 technologies, Apple can un-google-ify iOS without users noticing.
The threat to Google is legit.
I'm not sure about that since Verizon Wireless and Verizon are mostly separate entities but I wouldn't be surprised one bit if that were the case. Sprint's 4G push caused Verizon to rush out LTE. They didn't want Sprint's WiMax network to grow and have a speed advantage for very long. They...
Comcast has a seldom-enforced data cap of 250GB. AT&T has data caps with metering. The remaining alternative in my area is Centurylink and they don't have any caps. I'm getting 8-10mbps down and 2-4 up. Not the fastest connection but I won't have to deal with any kind of cap or data overage...

Apple wanted to be an all-in-one company... They're supposed to be an OEM, Software house, retail chain, and customer support center.
If Apple wanted to take on that responsibility, they should REALLY take it on instead of brick-walling customers in order to keep some pathetic facade...
GLaDOS says something like "What's so bad about being adopted?" in the game. There's also the little fact that the EVIL VILLAINS are the ones throwing the "fatty fatty no parents" insults at the player.
Sorry... non-issue.
"Google Employees greeted Korea police with coffee before they stormed the offices. Apparently, the Korean Police collaborates using Google Docs, Google Talk, and Gmail."
Apple marketed the glass as ultra-durable so the guy does have a case but seriously dude, that's what you get when you buy a phone that's mostly made of glass. I don't feel sorry for iPhone 4 owners at all. Anyone who actually believes Apple's crap deserves to be laughed at.
Unfortunately this guy has a point. For the status quo, the PC is dead. Anybody who doesn't want to be bothered with the "complexities" of the PC as we know it will opt for these computing appliances. Game consoles, phones, tablets, and netbooks will be the main stream for consumers.
Will the...
I'm skeptical. The same media circus full of rumors and such took place last year around Jan 26th. The Big Verizon announcement turned out not to be the iPhone.
I wouldn't hold your breath.
Imagine if the Entertainment industry decided to charge everyone $5 per month for all-you-can-download content via bittorrent instead of trying to sue the crap out of everyone.
I would pay $5 per month to legally download anything and everything I wanted and use it on any device I choose.
