I'm going to be nice, because I just re-read this thread and learned that H traffic is up while revenues are significantly down and I'm going to give H the benefit of the doubt and not say mean things to scare off noobs.
I find it interesting that you are challenging degrees of impact of the...
Let's go beyond the obvious, k?
1) Most games, and you can count on one hand the ones that are not, are adequately served by today's hardware...so there is much less pressure, if any, to upgrade.
2) Nvidia has nuked whatever reputation it had with the RoHS fiasco with their chip packaging...
And yet you bozos print this non-news.
I call for an embargo on any comment/post/story with JT in it.
Starting with this one, do not reply, I won't read it. It has to start somewhere.
In other words, there are freely available programs that can disable your PC or laptop on a whim?
Or even better: unique, non maskable codes that survive BIOS flashing?
Did you know 40-70% of all Intel NICs in the wild are counterfeit? Did you know NewEgg is also NOT an authorized Intel NIC reseller?
After picking up a simple PCI Intel NIC from good old reliable New Egg and having the physical RJ-45 connector separate from the card breaking it, I learned...
Thanks..I now have a name, John Smedley...to go with the company, Sony who will never get a dime of my money. I will also champion and support alternatives to any Sony gaming product.
I have a memory longer than that of a gypsy moth and Sony's rootkits and piss-poor PS3 introduction and...
What information is so potentially damaging to national security and of such a nature that it must be kept on a traditional device such as a laptop or cell phone and unable to be stored or transmitted in any other way?
Are they looking for a file, a picture? a movie?
You don't fuck with another persons food ever, no exceptions. You don't threaten to fuck with people's food ever, no exceptions.
You don't put drugs n people's drinks, you don't put laxatives in people's soup, you don't talk about doing it, you don't joke about doing it. You don't do it. You...
It's still effect at NewEgg, however I spied a possible good deal on a GT260 with 896MB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130372
You have to click on 'see price in cart' but that price is $254.99 (with $10 MIR to $244.99)
The price without clicking? $309.99...big diff...
This cable is such a random find. I'm currently using a 8800GTS G92 DVI Output --> VGA Adaptor --> Quality BNC cable --> Viewsonic 21" CRT (1600x1200x85Hz).
While the image is picture perfect, I have always been unhappy with the DVI > VGA Adaptor and will see if these gents can accommodate me...
Of course this is a shameless act of self-promotion. I don't think anyone here is under the impression that it is not. At least the item is relevant to the field and interesting, if just a typical display.
As always, you have to ignore the obvious bias of the marketers...they have zero interest...
I am quite willing to screw nvidia over for this end user harassment. I use NewEgg everyday, I recommend nvidia every day, making me do extra work for no reason pisses me off.
Don't work my last good nerve Timo or you are going to get the exact opposite of what you hope for. Unless you are...
You want people to buy your new product? Convince me it is a worthy product and I'll write in clear and vivid language that the slimmest, sleekest 24" LCD by BenQ is worth your dollar.
If it's mediocre, pick one these other cross-eyed yahoos, not me.
I've always been suspicious of BenQ's...
Load all your sensitive data, and have all the Wells Fargo creeps and their shady business associates pawing through it, culminating in the eventual press release "Wells Fargo On-line Data Storage reports loss/theft of user account data."
I have a memory more durable than a moth, no thanks.
Well then, congratulations are in order then HOCP, you have just made your reviews irrelevant to the overwhelming majority of the Windows gaming population.
I now know where to not get my game reviews, it was fun while it lasted. Take care.
In a battle between the cocaine and methamphetamine fueled RIAA bozos and their equally depraved attorneys vs. USEnet admins and the hordes of uber-geeks that populate it, everyone knows what the outcome will be.
Come and get what's coming to you RIAA, come and get it...
I adore everything Japanese, particularly the quirky left-field stuffs. USB tootbrushes, cats that stand up, underwear that dissolves in hot water so you don't have to be embarrassed throwing them out in the mandated clear trash bags.
If everyone was the same (like in Japan) you would have to...
I did my part, AMD. I bought over priced Opterons to reequip veteran s939 platforms in this quarter. I know you want me to buy your AM2 platform, but you introduced it too soon after s939 with crappy DDR2 RAM to boot and look what that got you.
I'm not going to go through the hassle of updating...
I take great joy in watching these greedy fools destroy their livelihood.
If their argument is "if you upload our copyrighted music tracks, you cause us (the RIAA) to lose money", then pent up disgust over the RIAA's policies and procedures will encourage more uploading in the US and abroad...
If this isn't a prime example of a reason to embrace the "first to market doctrine" in patent reform, I don't know what is.
Generic display ideas like this one, which is no more sophisticated than flipping through index cards or a slideshow, do not deserve to be protected in the marketplace...
The point I was making, and you would see if *you* weren't looking for an argument, is that any comparisons are moot since the technology doesn't exist. Furthermore, if you stretched your mind, you'll see that newer generations of hardware are more powerful than two of the type before it. Making...
Wow, you just completely invalidated your entire argument all by yourself in one post.
Beyond that, next generation cards are more powerful than the SLI'ed generation before them, so adding a third to an obsolete hardware base would be a poor choice. 3 GeForce 6800's or 1 8800?, you do the math.
"People are going to think, 'I could do this, I could go through federal court and get off cheap.'" [If fines were not in the MILLIONS]
Real people with their own agendas do not think nor speak like this, this is RIAA speak. Do not be fooled. Download freely. Sharing is caring. Support...
I'm so happy to learn that all of the Forceware, Vista and nForce driver issues are fixed!
Regular SLI and single-GPU operation must be at its pinnacle, which thusly frees up valuable engineering efforts to create this incredibly useful technology that will be affordable, relevant and...
Socket AM2? If AMD kept s939 around, how much of better a position would AMD be in right now? I purposely avoided AM2 for all the headache and expense of rebuilding when a drop-in replacement does just as well.
DD2 will be so much faster than DDR, they crowed. It isn't outside of benchmarks...
Lies have consequences? That is such primitive, September 10th thinking. I was under the impression that lying, hateful harmful deception was high sport these days.
What's next, people being jailed for theft?
Why is the first thing people discuss pricing? If you can't afford something, save! If you can, who cares! Yes prices will go down on older gear, always does.
What everyone should discuss first is: how about those drivers, are they ready? Will we have to fight with them to get them to work...
I am completely, wholeheartedly, underwhelmed by another console to PC port, I don't care how much they try and dance around that fact, no matter what the game.
SW: Republic Commando was the last straw.
