I recently setup my rig (my first build) and everything seemed OK at first. Booted Windows disk no problem and started install. A problem occured when I was in the Windows Setup GUI. It asked for the Windows disc (Windows XP Home Edition with SP2 OEM Verison) to be inserted despite it being in...
Hey all,
I'm trying to install a Nexus Silent Case fan in my Sonata II case. It didn't come with any mounting hardware. What mounting hardware do I need or is the hardware included with the Sonata? Thanks!
Hey all,
I'm having trouble installing my X800 XL in my DFI LanParty Ultra-D.
The instructions from the mobo say this:
1. Remove the screw of the bracket that is opposite the PCI Express x16 graphics slot then remove the bracket.
I can't find this bracket or screw. Can somebody tell...
If you're looking to design and create new products, you'll most likely want an engineering degree. Sony would most likely be looking for people with an Electrical Engineering degree or such to design and create electronics.
Hey all,

Hey all,
Anybody have any information on the 7800 GT? Release date, pricing, performance, features, etc.?
I've heard a couple rumours that the MSRP will be $450 and it will be a 20 pipe card (compared to the 7800 GTX's 24 pipes). Also, I've heard the release date will be mid-August...
No current games will need it but by the time it is available a couple games will make good use of it. Were the 6800 and X800 series needed before HL2, Doom 3, and Far Cry came out? Maybe this badboy will need the R520.
By that logic, why have a graphics card if we can just use a CPU to render graphics? The reason we have graphics cards, sound cards, etc. is because they are specialized to deal with certain calculations and can therefore do them much more quickly.
If you're not going to be gaming, I would get rid of that video card and put that extra money into other components. Try this setup maybe:
Case and Power Supply:
ANTEC Solution Series Mid Tower Case with 300W Power Supply, Model "SLK2600AMB" - Retail
$55
Motherboard:
MSI "K8T NEO2-F"...
It'll be next to impossible to find one. You won't pay for the onboard sound. The chips are dirt cheap, that's why they're poor quality. Also, the chances of the onboard sound messing up and ruining your motherboard is slim to none.
The Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard is available at NCIX right now.

You can run AGP 8X cards in an AGP 4X slot. The difference between the two slots is barely anything, especially with low end cards.
Take a look at this card: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-121-502&depa=1
Mind telling us why their prices and customer service suck? Back up your opinions with facts please. Anybody can say a company sucks, but can you prove it?
ATI and Nvidia can't be properly compared. There are just way too many variables. ATI beats Nvidia in some cases, and Nvidia beats ATI in others. Each have their upsides and downsides.
You want to upgrade that setup? That system is mint. I can play current games (albeit on 800x600 resolution) on my Pentium 4 1.6 with a GeForce 4MX graphics card. :p
Stay with that setup for at least a year.
It depends on your setup. Since you're getting a new setup, I would definitely go with a gig. You won't get the most out of your setup with any less (try running HL2 on a high resolution with just 512 MB Ram).
That is true. But the 6600 GT PCI-E is faster than the 6600 GT AGP. I'm pretty sure this is because the AGP version needs to incorporate a bridge since the 6600 GT was designed to be PCI-E.
Don't be ignorant. PCI-E is faster than AGP. It's not slow. It's not a necessary upgrade yet, but as it goes more mainstream there's no reason not to pick up a PCI-E system.
