I had a Samsung 244T (PVA panel) for about two years then upgraded to a Dell 3008WFP (IPS panel). My uses are both as a desktop and multimedia monitor (viewing video and playing games with a gamepad--console and pc games).
The weird purple tint associated with polarized monitors really didn't...
Hi, everyone. I actually found a solution to the problem shortly after posting this thread. However, I was lazy getting back to tell you.
I don't use my composite, s-video, or component ports much these days. I do know they were fine when I received the monitor.

When I hook up any signal to composite, s-video, and component, the hue is too purple or too green. I can't really fix it either using the on-screen display controls. Has anyone had this issue and fixed it? Did you have to RMA it?
Thanks ahead of time...
I have a question if you do. Are you able to control play/pause. previous/next track, or volume level when paired with a set of bluetooth headphones (that support AVRCP profile)?

Cool. Thanks all of you. I'm going to try the distilled water method first since it is the cheapest and easiest to obtain. I also have trust issues with so-called screen cleaners.
I'd really like to know how to clean the screen to my Dell 3008wfp. The screen is plastic, I believe, and not glass. There must also be a coating. I don't want to remove that. I have some Klear Screen, but every time I used it previously (on other displays), it left streaks. Any suggestions?
I have an issue where the monitor gets stuck in power save mode on boot. If any had this problem and fixed it, could you enlighten me with a solution. Thanks!
Steps to re-produce:
I am using Windows Vista.
1. Keep monitor turned off (ie amber or blue LED light is OFF)
2. Computer is plugged...
Yesterday my 3008wfp had arrived. I got a relatively good deal for $1500. I had paid $1400 for the Samsung 244T when it originally came out so this was a great deal for a 30" LCD.
ALL THE PICTURES BELOW ARE A BIT RED BECAUSE OF MY CAMERA. THERE IS ALSO A LOT OF CAMERA NOISE.

I agree. Gateway had bad foresight by determining this feature not to be a major deciding factor on whether consumers will purchase this monitor.
At the time the XHD was released, plenty of monitor manufacturers were touting higher gamut as the next best thing. Even if they didn't have the...
I read something about Samsung releasing a revised model of the 305T, called the 305T+. I was wondering if anyone knows any details about specifications: gamut, response, contrast, inputs, etc? I am particularly interested in the inputs since I read a story quite a while ago about Samsung...
Apparently those who ordered it from Dell are on some kind of waiting list like a pre-order. I was supposed to get mine tomorrow since they gave me free overnight shipping, but it was pushed back because the monitor was posted too early on the site. I actually ordered over the phone and even the...
No one knows which scaler the Dell 3008wfp uses yet. The cnet article confirms there is a pretty good one, but gives no details (ie name of technology used).
Also, OUCH! The Australia Dell site is selling the 3008wfp for about $2000. I was hoping it would be sold at most around $1400 to $1500...

How could this be a bad monitor? With all those inuts and an S-IPS panel with a resolution to match the panel's size, how could this be bad? Now all we need is a release date and a price.
Does anyone know the color gamut on this thing? Also, does this LCD suffer from the overdrive ghosting issues like the Dell 2407wfp-HC monitor (inverse-ghosting caused by moving light images over a dark background)?

Could anyone post a video showing off the 245T in-game and also regular desktop use (web browsing, moving file icons, viewing pictures, etc.)? I have seen videos of the Dell 2407wfp-HC, but I would really like to see how the 245T looks.
Some fps games, flight sims, etc. would be really nice...
I've been contacting various online retailers about the release date of the 245T. Originall planned for release in the first week of November, most retailers are now expecting to get shipments towards the last week of November.
Looks like we won't be seeing reviews of the American release any...
Has anyone been able to find a US release date? Anyone contacted Samsung?
I'm really interested in seeing reviews of this monitor once it hits US shores. I've only seen one review from a respectable source (Behardware, Lesnumeriques). I want to see updated reviews to see if anything has...
Confirmed, TN panel :(

I have a Sapphire x1950 Pro (ATI) PCI-Express card. I need to monitor the temp and voltage in a full screen application. Is there any program that allows me to do this? I'm thinking it could print out the text overlay just like FRAPs does for frames per second.
I put my CPU voltage at 1.35V and my computer refused to boot. I then raised the voltage to 1.375V and it booted. After while the computer would freeze, so I raised the voltage again. This time I set it to 1.4V. It rain fine. I played a game for 10-20 mins and then it froze.
Should I adjust...
I claim I don't overclock because I always automatically select the "Use optimal settings" in the BIOS. I will try to set it manually to 1.35V or 1.4V like you guys suggested. I will then try to run a game with the default fan control. Let's hope all it good.
I had replaced my PSU with the 300W PSU because of these problems. Now that I'm still having issue, I believe it was something else than not having enough power.
I went into my BIOS recently and set the fan to go high speed when it hit 50 C (the contol is Temp Control 50C). Anyways, that...
