Wow that's so much easier. I never knew about that hotkey. I do have my computer lcd set as the main display. It's weird though when using the hotkey to turn off extended mode instead of selecting computer only, I selected projector only and that turns off the TV. It seems to think my TV is my...
I just updated to 11.4 today and usually when I want to turn on extended desktop on my HDTV (via HDMI) I just enable it in the CCC. So I did this as usual, but I don't remember seeing a prompt to confirm. The setting stayed, but now I want to disable the extended desktop on the TV, so I go to...
I have an old barebones setup laying around and a friend wants to buy it. Of course I am going to give him a good price, but I am wondering what you guys think this is worth.

Ended up getting the Avermedia M780 which came today. Software is sorta buggy but for as much as I watch TV it will do. OVA HD looks pretty good. I tried some of that other open source PVR software and I coulden't get it to work. All I would use it for is live TV for right now.
This card looks nice, but again it looks like people are having problems with it on just plain Windows XP Pro. I don't want Vista or any of those MCE OSs.
I think I might just go for the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1800. I need this by the end of next week.
I'll be moving up to a dorm in about a week so I thought I would pick up a TV tuner card instead of bringing up a TV. I don't really have too much interest in recording TV, although I would like to try and get some over-the-air HD channels. The dorm itself has cable so I assume they will just...
About to pull the trigger on this setup with the Asus P5Q-E & Q9450
http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?Source=MSWD&WishListNumber=10375648
Any last tips/suggestions etc?
I was leaning more towards that Asus P5Q Pro, but I noticed it doesn't have dual nics (I like to bridge the connections and connect my laptop, helps to transfer large files). I have an external HDD which has eSata, so an eSata port would be nice too.
I looked one notch up at the Asus P5Q-E...
Sounds good thanks.
I'm looking for ddr2 1200 ram and it seems like its hard to come by. They have only 2 on newegg and both are sold out. 2 gb and 4 gb kits. Nothing on tigerdirect or zipzoomfly either.
I'll stick with a P45 just to keep my options open down the line.
That XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 won't be too big for the Antec 300 will it? I know it should be fine with the Coolermaster RC-690.
I don't know too much about brands on the ATI side, but VisionTek is pretty reputable, right?
Nah, I'm not an audiophile.
I like the Coolermaster RC-690 although I think it is just as big as the Antec 900.
What do you guys think of these 2 mobos?
ASUS P5Q Deluxe

I'm running at 1680 x 1050. Couple things I am worried about. First is the heatsink will be too big for the Antec Nine Hundred. I am open to different cases I just don't want a huge case since space is somewhat limited. Also will my current PCP&C 610w be ok?
Do you mean onboard sound is better...
I started out with a Nvidia build, but now I am swaying towards ATI. Just looking for more opinions on this.

I actually just ordered a new power supply. Many people seem to be saying Ultra is pretty bad and after someone in the other thread said it blew his capacitors and fried just about everything I don't think I want to stick with them. Some people in the MSI forums said to go with a single rail 12v...
I read a tutorial on how to do it and tested everything. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary and at the most voltages were .5 over. Not really sure what the problem is if my psu seems to be fine.
I went out and bought a cheap multi-meter. The problem is the cables on my 24 pin connector are not color coded so I don't know which to jumper. I also don't know what to set the multi-meter for the right readings.
So let me get this straight. I hotwire the psu by using a paperclip and connect the 2 leads, then I take the multimeter and stick it in those 2 slots your said. This is all on the 24 pin connector? What if I want to measure the molex connectors?
The original psu I had was one of the early ones. The new one they sent me I am not sure when it was made but it was noticeably different from other like an updated model.
Wow, that is pretty bad if it can wreck a whole system like that. I am interested to see what the tester has to say, but after hearing that I don't want anything to do with Ultra.
When the X-connect first came out I think it was one of the first that was modular, which was a reason I bought...
Not quite sure if my psu is frying my hard drives or what, but as someone suggested I should probably test the psu. I would rather not use a multimeter, but I am thinking about running out and getting a power supply tester.

This is a long story, but I'll try to include just the important parts.
Couple weeks ago my Ultra X-Connect 500 watt power supply starts to die. How do I know? 5 seconds after I would boot it would turn off, sometimes it would boot and all would be fine and it would randomly turn off. It would...
I just got my 1st Mac about 5-6 months ago and got a Macbook pro. I have been messing around with customizations such as Unsanitys Shape Shifter and Cleardock, but whenever I enable this stuff I always seem to have problems. I decided to disable Shape Shifter because I noticed the system was...
I use AppZapper to uninstall programs. It works great just drag the icon into AppZapper and it finds all stuff the program installed, click zap and its gone. No trace left behind.
